A1 / A2 COURSES

A1 & A2 Motorbike Courses Chorley

After taking your CBT, the A1 and A2 motorbike courses will help you to ditch the L plates and potentially move to a bigger bike. Bradley Rider Training is the only ATB in Chorley and the only fully backed Yamaha rider training school in the UK.

When you take your A1 and A2 motorbike courses, we’ll always make sure you’re comfortable with everything you’re doing, teaching you at a pace that suits you, whilst helping you to succeed. Depending on your age and aims, you’ll either want to take the A1 or A2 motorbike course.

A1 motorbike course Chorley
If you’re looking to get rid of your L plates and carry pillions without riding a bigger bike, the A1 licence is perfect and will meet all your needs, and if you’re 17, this is the only test option you can take.

You will need to complete CBT and your motorcycle theory test before you take your Module 1 and Module 2 practical tests, both of which will be taken on the same sized bike.

Once you’ve successfully completed your A1 motorbike course, you will be able to ride a bike up to 125cc.

A2 motorbike course Chorley
The A2 Restricted licence allows riders aged 19 or over ride a medium sized motorbike restricted to 47BHP (35kW), with a weight ratio not exceeding 0.2 per kg. The bike must not be derived from a vehicle more than twice its power.

Just like the Direct Access Scheme, you must have successfully completed a CBT and motorbike theory test before taking your Module 1 and Module 2 practical tests on a bike restricted to 47 BHP.

After passing your A2 motorbike test, you will have to wait until you’re 24, or have held your A2 licence for a minimum of 2 years before taking the DAS test.
